Examples
Getting started (5)
- Getting started
Create a globe, add a location and respond to a click.
- Earth navigation
Compare navigation durations, approach a New York marker, rotate, zoom and switch views.
- Property animations
Control one marker, animate pins and a line independently, and repeat rotating or oscillating icons.
- Front and back
Use viewchange and spherical distance to color a marker by hemisphere and scale a raised cube by its distance from the view center.
- Location helpers
Aim a plane, connect a destination and label the route with three location helpers.
Every object type (8)
- Marker
Compare mesh properties, independent axes and cylinders with equal widths but different heights.
- Icon
Compare SVG images, tint, proportions, rotation, anchors and view alignment.
- Text
Place surface and floating text with different sizes, proportions, rotations and fonts.
- Overlay
Combine styled cards, a badge, a link and an interactive form on one globe.
- Line
Style great-circle connections and create a polyline from an array of waypoints.
- Polygon
Fill translucent and concave areas, including a shape that crosses the date line.
- Points
Load thousands of airports into one points object and find the nearest airport to a click.
- Layer
Combine transparent map layers with independent visibility and opacity controls.
Interaction and navigation (8)
- Object events
Highlight a marker, icon, text, thick line, polygon and individual points on hover, and report clicks with the built-in point index.
- Marker tooltips
Show marker labels on hover with one shared HTML overlay.
- Location List and Filter
Search locations, filter by type and link a custom location list to globe markers and details.
- Accessible Locations
Use descriptive labels and the built-in keyboard location list to trigger the same details as marker clicks.
- Country selector
Toggle country colors and show the country and coordinates of the latest click.
- Drawing on the Map
Place points or connect clicks with lines, then clear the drawing.
- Marker Clustering
Expand nearby cities in one region at a time, with pins that grow and fan outward to make room for each other.
- Drag a marker
Pick up and move a marker with a shadow, edge-driven globe rotation and pointer capture.
Data, routes and stories (6)
- Load locations
Fetch JSON or CSV data and turn city coordinates into markers.
- Country Statistics
Map country values to a fixed color scale, compare years and inspect values with a click.
- Route Selection
Choose between three flight routes using thick lines or a list, with flight times, layovers and total journey time.
- Route Playback
Play a flight through several stops, pause or restart it, and optionally follow the plane.
- Live Data Updates
Publish simulated global news at random locations, animate notification rings and show their time on hover.
- Scroll Story
Scroll through chapters in a side panel or click a marker to navigate the story and its globe view.
Custom 3D markers
The Mesh converter turns OBJ geometry into the lightweight mesh SVG format used by Miniature Earth. Preview the result, reduce coordinate precision and download a marker for your project.
API reference
Find globe and object properties, location helpers, lifecycle behavior, events, animation options, map conventions and integration guidance in one place. The documentation and example collection are included as local files.
License and use
Adapt example code for commercial work, publish your implementations and deliver them to clients. The original documentation, example collection and standalone converter may not be republished or redistributed as a kit.
